Ivor Goodsite is a costumed character developed by the Considerate Constructors Scheme to promote all that is positive about the UK construction industry to a young audience, to help contractors put across the site safety message to children and to encourage young people to consider construction as a possible future career. The 7’ costume can be hired from the Scheme by anyone involved with the construction industry to attend school visits, community days and other appropriate events.

Featuring sections for both children and adults, the website is aimed at introducing Ivor to a wider audience. Games are available to engage children’s attention and the site gives ideas about how Ivor can be used, including a downloadable safety talk for use in primary schools.

Also on Ivor’s site are photos and information about some of the visits and activities that he has become involved in. This year so far, Ivor has made 55 visits to schools, sites, and other venues. These include Ivor’s participation in this year’s Comic Relief, when he appeared on TV, helping Bovis Lend Lease raise funds for the charity.

In addition to his new website, Ivor has set up his own Facebook account and hopes he will attract many new friends this way!
